The pull type Crumblers will pack up with mud when wet The mounted crumblers have no center bar and we have yet to plug one in the last 5 years. When we had pull types, we would plug some part of them every other day. Good luck. You are logged in as a guest. Forums Classifieds Skins Language.

Thought about the one mounted on field cultivator nabors around me that have them still pull the double basket. The ones on the field cultivator are not aggressive enough.

I would get a pull behind. With mine I sometimeshave to unhook it and just use the digger and mulcher tines. It is very dependant on soils and soil moisture. Somes soils of mine might be ready to workbut not necessarily dry enough to use a crumbler without plugging it up. TM2 is the way to go, you'll definately Alhambra IL 3 somes better resale and the narrower transport makes them more attractive. Not sure what a ' setup cost but was quoted enough to cringe slightly on a 3bar drag with flat bar mounted setup, 10KK without getting specifics on mounting brackets for a 50' I wouldn't touch a pull behind in the spring with a crane lol fall use only for leveling behind the ripperbut some people don't mind not having corners.

They have an advantage in wet spots being able to just raise them up over a mounted but other than that, i don't see any additional advantage to one. Advantage to the mounted rolling baskets is that the unit is easier to transport, especially if you have a lot of road age, and you cn get into tighter places. Advantage to the pts is that you can unhook them when you don't need it or conditions aren't right for the rolling basket or can you just the rolling basket if the situation called for it.

I know of one guy that used their pt to break down stalks in the fall and we used ours once to incorporated wheat. The TMII is a much better machine in about every respect vs. The DMI will take more power to pull because it actually stays in the ground We had anow a TMII. The TMII makes a much better seed bed -- less streaks, less lumps, less obvious tire tracks from the tractor. I was surprised that there was so much difference, but now I'm a believer!

Blue vs. Even though the machines of the same era are identical, buyers seem to be willing to pay more for red. Farmer Dale. Casey Illinois. Go with the DMI, you will be glad you did. Ours have a 3 bar drag harrow with a single roller, sometimes we pull a pull type double roller behind that, does a fantastic job, if needed you can unhook. Disadvantage is you can not work the corners very good.

Woodham, Ontario. We bought a new field cultivator and bought one with 2-bar coil tine and rolling basket. The mounted style are much more manouverable. Alhambra IL 3 somes have clay soil and if it is a bit wet we just stay home. The tines will smear the soil before the rolling baskets fill. I would recommend the dmi, just traded a caseih for a tigermate II and the dmi stays in the ground much better. As far as the baskets, my opinion would be to go with the pull type, can always unhook if you dont need or want to use it, can raise it up separately in an occasional wet spot and also don't have to reset it if you raise or lower the field cult.

Im sure it works good both ways but that would be my opinion. We have been pulling double rollers behind fc and disc for around 8yrs now and like the job they do, we have quite a bit of clay soils and the last couple of years have been a challenge at times with the wet conditions at planting. One thing to remember about a pull type, don't underestimate the extra hp it takes to pull the basket, I would est between 50 to extra hp depending on the ground conditions, sounds like a lot but its real!

Renville Minnesota. Youngman, that was well said and very true. I had the exact same experience The mounted crumblers don't do the same job the pull style do, but at least the mounted ones work ALL the time and don't have to be unhooked.
