Selene (Kate Beckinsale) is a death dealer, a vampire warrior, assigned to hunt down and eliminate all werewolves, a sworn enemy to the vampires through centuries. When she notices some werewolves chasing a human (Scott Speedman), she sets her mind on finding out what is so special about him, much to the distress of her leader Kraven (Shane Brolly) who wants her by his side looking pretty. But what she discovers changes everything she knows, and believe,s and not knowing what else to do, Selene wakes up trusted leader Viktor (Bill Nighy) before his time, to seek his guidance.

With dark, rainy and gloomy surroundings, Kate Beckinsale (Van Helsing, 2004) fights and shoots her way through this movie while looking incredibly hot, clad in latex. Though looking beautiful, Beckinsale easily convinces as someone you don’t want to rub the wrong way. She is utterly cool and makes her combat scenes look easy and slick as hell. There is no doubt she is the leading lady, she is on screen most of the time and even delivers well-fitted voice over through parts of the movie. Speedman (xXx 2: State of the Union, 2005) is good as the human who finds himself in the middle of a raging ancient war, though there is a lack of chemistry between him and Beckinsale. Shane Brolly (Spread, 2009) is good as Kraven, but his presence as a leader of powerful warriors pales in comparement to magnificent Bill Nighy (Shaun of the Dead, 2004) who as always fills the screen with his enormous presence and almost steals the picture. He is on the other hand easily matched by leader of the werewolves Lucian played by the equally brilliant Michael Sheen (The Queen, 2006). A good looking and highly entertaining action flick.
