Elle (King) is best friends with Lee (Courtney) and Noah (Elordi) is Lee’s annoying bad-boy big brother. But when Elle kisses Noah at the school’s kissing both sparks fly and Elle finds herself caught between her feelings for the two brothers.
Is The Kissing Booth predictable? Yes. Is it sugary sweet? Oh yes. But it is really lifted by the endearing King (The Conjuring, 2013) giving a warm and fresh performance as Elle, a smart and funny teenager bound to steal your heart. It is not difficult to believe the school’s hot guy Noah would fall for her and whenever they are together there are sparks. Movies about young love pretty much only function if you believe in the romance and most of all in the characters, luckily both boxes ticks of in this endearing film about first kisses, first loves and friendship.
Joey King and Jacob Elordi starred dating for real during filming.
