After getting his hands on a travel journey, Professor Lindenbrock (More) follow in the footsteps of the journal’s owner together with his niece (Sentis) and her suitor Axel (Munné). Their journey takes them on a fantastic trip to the very center of the earth.
One of many adaptation of one of Verne’s most famous novels, this Spanish movie deliver the sci-fi story with cheesy lines and poor acting. More’s (A Night to Remember, 1958) Professor Lindenbrock seems pompous and arrogant and he and his team seems terrible unfit for travelling. Right from forgetting their travelling passes to loosing both their water supplies and the travel journey shortly after going underground, it is hard not to shift between shaking your head in disbelief and laughing out loud at the terrible dialogue. The cinematography is at times magnificent and it has entertainment value. Unintentionally funny and cheesy fun.
The trailer is dubbed to English.
The movie where also released international under the title ‘Where Time Began’.
