As a major fan of famous rock star Jason Masters (Carmack), Jenny (Bynes) can’t believe her own luck when she strands on a desert island with him. When she discovers the island is not so deserted after all, she decides not to tell the wounded rock star, planning to use their alone time to win his heart.
While Love Wrecked isn’t the best movie starring the bubbly and undeniable charming Bynes (What a Girl Wants, 2003), there is something about the funny girl that makes her enjoyable to watch in just about anything while silently mourn she left the movie business at such a young age. With her ability to make a fool of herself without seeming to mind, Bynes is great in teen comedies and in this rom-com set in paradise. She perfectly captures the love-stricken teenager while Carmack (Shark Night, 2011) is good at playing shallow rock star and object of her affections. In the background, Bennett (Mean Girls, 2004) is so endearing as her best friend with a secret crush on her, that you wonder how she can prefer the cream puffy Masters. To ensure the entertainment, enter a competition in form of sultry Sigler (Dark Ride, 2006) also after the heart of the famous rock star. It is dumb but good-hearted entertainment and the sunny beach mixed with the likeable Bynes is bound to put a smile on your face.
