Gary (Adam Scott) has met the woman of his dreams in single mum Samantha (Evangeline Lilly). Unfortunately her son Lucas (Owen Atlas) is his worst nightmare, in fact, he may be the Antichrist.
Writer/director behind the excellent Tucker and Dale vs Evil (2010), Eli Craig, has made this horror comedy for Netflix, which sees Scott (Step Brothers, 2008) in deep trouble when he starts suspecting his new stepson is the Antichrist. The movie is lighthearted enough to almost be a family friendly vehicle and has some genuinely fun moments. Scott puts up the most perfect facial expressions and Lilly (Ant-Man, 2015) is charming as the overbearing mother while young Atlas (Astronaut Camp, 2016) makes a good mean pout. Despite being a kind of a one-in-a-million comedy, Little Evil differs with it’s ‘my-step-son-is-the-Antichrist’ theme and has both nice moments and fun support characters, like the unforgettable great Bridget Everett (Trainwreck, 2015) as male-female-which is it? AL. Good fun.
