In Whoville Christmas is everybodies favourite thing. But The Grinch who lives a secluded life in a cave on top of the mountain just outside Whoville is different. Where the Whos are cute and cheery, he is grean and mean and he absolutely hates Christmas!
Based on the beloved classic children’s book by Dr. Seuss, Ron Howard’s (Rush 2013) How the Grinch Stole Christmas is a wonderful glimpse into the universe of the exceptional author. Where other works by Seuss has been brought to life through animation, Howard bravely uses actors in makeup, to give them that distinctive who-look, working well due to the brilliant Oscar-winning makeup and the great decision to cast the excellent master in physic comedy Jim Carrey (Dumb and Dumber 1994). With beautiful rhymes in the style and spirit of Dr. Seuss told in the pleasant voice of Anthony Hopkins (Thor 2011) and a wonderful mix of comedy and cute Christmas movie, this is a movie that will entertain young and old and perhaps even cause your heart to grow a size or two.
Jim Carrey’s makeup and latex skin-outfitt was so uncomfortable the he recieved counseling from a Navy SEAL who taught him torture-resistance techniques.
