All hell is let loose at an all-night après-ski party, when a fatal accident turns almost everyone in to zombies. Now the few left, must work together to try to get down the mountain alive.
Austrian horror comedy with the killer name brings new blood to a known and tired genre. The low budget has cleverly been used on gore and splatter and less on the acting, which is by mainly unknown and of mixed quality. The dialogue is wooden and some of the acting even more so, but the story moves along in a nice pace and there are some great details, some good laughs and the joy of seeing a woman in dirndl attacking zombies with old-style weapons. It tries to be the ski version of Shaun of the Dead (2004) and succeeds when it comes to attitude and new-thinking, but fails when it comes to the quality of the characters and the acting. Good fun for any fan of the genre and an extra star for one of the coolest movie titles, ever!
Dominik Hartl was inspired to write the movie at an après-ski party, where he noticed the similarity between the drunken tourists and zombies.
